Two NWU students start kota delivery service

Two North-West University (NWU) students started a kota delivery service in Ikageng and around Potchefstroom, thanks to easing restrictions under lockdown level three. Their business, RoadHouse Fast Food franchise, is also one of the first kota outlets in the city to accept card payments.

28-year old Lefa Sebuthongo, an NWU graduate and current masters student in public management and governance, is the founder of RoadHouse Fast Food. He started his franchise in Klerksdorp and later decided to open another branch in Ikageng, with partner Kabelo Sebolai (27). Sebolai is also studying public management and governance at NWU.

They serves kotas, a kasi favourite consisting of bread that is hollowed out and filled with a layer of seasoned french fries, then topped with optional layers of cheese, eggs, sauce, a russian and atchar.

Regular food delivery services do not cater to people who stay in townships, so RoadHouse fast food franchise decided to offer customer the same exclusivity and service, and to deliver affordable food conveniently at their house, work or any preferred location in Ikageng and all over Potchefstroom.

In the beginning phase RoadHouse mainly catered to NWU Potchefstroom students, but now the service has expanded to all of Potchefstroom.

Sebuthongo, who is an NWU graduate and currently completing his masters in public management and governance, said his passion for RoadHouse came from his his love for food and interest in Kasi-based eats.

Sebolai , who is currently  completing his degree at NWU , said RoadHouse is there to cater to people in the community and to ensure that they get good service.

Lethlogonolo Sebuthongo (23), who is  a staff member at RoadHouse Fast Food Franchise, said he enjoys making kotas and serving people in the community. β€œMy job keeps me busy and away from doing bad things in the kasi,” he said.
