Potch fans enjoy Proteas win at Senwes Park

South Africa played their final ODI against Australia at a sold out Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on Saturday and made it a clean sweep when they beat the Aussies by six wickets.

The series win meant a lot to the fans, who came out in their masses to show support.

The Proteas won the toss and elected to bat, sending David Warner and Aaron Finch in to bat. Australia lost important wickets early on but Marnus Labuschagne put on an impressive batting display to set Australia up nicely after the fifty overs.

Former NWU student Janneman Malan opened the batting alongside captain Quinton de Kock, but it was Jon-Jon Smuts, Kyle Verreynne and Heinrich Klaasen who batted their way to securing the series victory.

Jon-Jon Smuts was announced Player of the Match, while Heinrich Klaasen walked away with the Player of the Series award.
