NWU’s internal residence rugby league kicked off at the Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds on Friday 6 March, with nine of the best residences, as well as PUK u/19, competing for the coveted title and cash prize.

Last year’s winners Caput recorded an impressive 50-0 win against De Wilgers, but the attention was on Patria and Veritas who were playing their derby fixture.

It was the Patria Army  who came out on top, while Heimat also recorded a promising victory against Over de Voor. Laureus claimed a surprising win over Excelsior, with PUK u/19 outplayed Villagers.
