Students at the Vaal campus of North-West University have nature on their doorstep, with canoeing on the Vaal River, stand-up paddle boarding and river rafting just some of the fun activities they can enjoy on a relaxing weekend.

For those who enjoy a bit of luxury, the Emerald Resort and Casino is located on a beautiful private estate on the lush banks of the Vaal River in Vanderbijilpark, near the university. The resort offers a fun getaway with activities that range include eating out, fishing, swimming pools, outdoor terraces for relaxation and gaming.
